Structural principle of butterfly valve
Structural principle of Butterfly Valve
1. Butterfly valve principle
The butterfly valve is a structure in which the valve plate rotates along the center line, and the valve plate is small in size. If the handle or worm gear is turned 90 degrees so that the valve is parallel to the medium flow, the valve will open. Therefore, the butterfly valve has the characteristics of simple structure, small size, light weight, small installation size, convenient operation, and fast opening and closing. There are also sealing and flow regulating features. However, due to the large resistance of the valve, the medium pressure has a great influence on the opening and closing of the valve, so it is not suitable for high-pressure environments.
2. The performance advantages of butterfly valves are mainly concentrated in small size, simple structure, fast opening and closing, etc. The disadvantages are also obvious. The pressure loss of the flowing medium in the pipeline is large, and it cannot be opened and closed in a high-pressure environment.
3. Different structures of butterfly valves
The sealing performance and service life of centerline butterfly valve, single eccentric butterfly valve, double eccentric butterfly valve and triple eccentric butterfly valve are improved sequentially, but the difficulty and cost of insufficient structure increase. If there are no special working conditions, it is often necessary to choose a more economical and suitable butterfly valve.
